In an article about "The Hunger Games," and Hollywood's racial casting issue, Stephanie Goldberg discusses how many fans of the series were disappointed and confused as to why black actors were cast in place of white characters in Suzanne Collins' book. The article had some strengths in providing some insight from a UNT associate professor of radio named Harry M. Benshoff who state "poor reading comprehension or intolerance, they're indicated a larger issue in hollywood, people typically project themselves onto a character when reading in order to empathize with them." This statement provides an advantage towards explaining exactly why many people can feel as if a character of a different race shouldn't be played by a certain actor unless otherwise portrayed exactly in the book. There happened to be some weaknesses in explaining more, felt as if I was trying to gain some more examples of people who actually had problems so I could more than less understand and click. There was a legitimate sense of an impact of this event having on individual, mainly myself, but not too much on society; maybe more of a statement for society together. I do believe that today Hollywood is slowly but surely branching out in aspects of portraying movies, but not so much when it comes down to certain casting. Much of today I see the film industry more focused on how to make money than the fact of what color actors they place in a role with the actors popularity and status in the film industry. In the documentary, "Soundtrack for a Revolution," director Dan Sturman and Bill Guttentag, it has a great advantage on our society bring in the classics of famous artists and to showcase the Revolution and the ways it affected people personally, the music gave them the courage to continue on, also a man who spoke on the documentary stated "they can take away everything but never their souls.
