Pimping, street hooking, brothels, and escort services are all considered types of prostitution; all of which all are illegal. Legal consequences can lead a prostitute to a jail sentence of nine months to a year or more, along with a hefty fine. Pimps, who oversee the prostitutes who work the streets can serve up to twenty years in prison with a fine as great as $150,000 if they're convicted of running an organized, illegal sex operation. Working at a strip club is considered a type of prostitution since the fact that they have chosen to remove their clothing from their body to obtain cheers and money from it. Considering pornography as prostitution can be thrown in both ways since there is a sexual encounter to acquire a profit; although pornography should be considered illegal, it is also a profitable occupation which brings money back to the government. Prostitution began way back to the ancient times, as early as 2400BCE. In the 14th century, Italy had legally introduced prostitution, allowing the use of sexual engagements to be in fact allowed. In the 16th century, a new pope with the name of Pope Sixtus V, established a mandate saying that prostitution would result into the death penalty, which banned all types of it. By the mid-20th century, the Japanese had forced prostitution in their home of Japan, which was when they abducted up to 300,000 women and girls to satisfy the Japanese troop who were apart of World War II.
