An ambition is an eager, and sometimes and inordinate desire for preferment, honor, superiority, power or attainment over something or someone else. To obtain object or goal that is immensely desired. It comes from the Middle English word “ambicioun,” meaning an excessive desire for power, money or wealth. Ambition is something that everyone, no matter their age or cultural background, has instinctively. Through ambitious undertakings we can set goals and find ourselves and our God-given talents. Ambition can be a driving force for success, or in some cases a road to failure. “With an anxiety that almost amounted to agony, I collected the instruments of life around me that I might infuse a spark of being into lifeless thing that lay at my feet. How can I describe my emotions at this catastrophe, or how delineate the wretch whom with such infinite pains and care I had endeavored to form?" ( Volume I, page 34 ). Such intensive emotions had experienced Victor Frankenstein when he first saw the creature which he by his own hands had created. His entire life has lead up to this moment. One should keep away from people who try to belittle his ambitions. Small people always do that, but the really great make him feel that he, too, can become great. Following one’s dreams and not giving a thought to the comment of the people who put others down is what creates a successful person. “We are unfashioned creatures, but half made up, if one wiser, better, dearer than ourselves -- such a friend ought to be -- do not lend his aid to perfectionate our weak and faulty natures" ( Letter 4 ). This quote means that people are weak creatures, not complete. People need someone to help them. This is what a friend should do. People will stay this way unless this friend helps them to make their weak selves better. Spending time with people with a positive image and attitude can help one get motivated and realize his goals. Persistence can make everything possible, because persistence is an excellent demonstration of
