Scientist and many other concerned citizens begin looking into Green Energy Sources as a way to eliminate or even possibly reduce global warming. Global warming has been a worldwide issue affecting many of earth’s livestock from animals; promoting distinction, also causing sea levels to rise, and creating carbon emission gases that flow through what is now in many countries unsafe air to breathe. Green energy sources are vital to earth’s atmosphere, and will help create better living quarters for all humans and animals if utilized efficiently. In order to understand the use for Green Energy Sources, one must explore the effects of global warming. Global warming further known as the “Greenhouse Effect” traps greenhouse gasses and carbon emissions into earth’s atmosphere. “These gases evolving from human activity contribute 84 percent of earth’s carbon emissions being released into the atmosphere causing deforestation and many other negative trends.” Green Energy sources however have the power to change that, and promote healthy living for animals and humans. According to Secretary of the Interior Bruce Babbitt; “American’s have constructed one dam every day since the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Of the 75,187 dams in the US, less than 3% are used to produce 10-12% of the nation's electricity. With over 2,000 facilities, the US is the second largest producer of hydropower worldwide, behind Canada. The dams that do not produce electricity are used for irrigation or flood control. Many people believe these pre-existing sites could contribute to the country's power supply in a cost-effective manner if hydroelectric facilities were constructed.” Hydropower electricity can be very efficient and beneficial because there are no fossil fuels necessary to produce energy. This then eliminates chances of pollution being passed through the atmosphere allowing water to be the main producer for efficient energy making. Seeming that everything is water based hydro energy can be very efficient and inexpensive. Research has shown that hydro turbines can convert at least 90 percent of energy produced from water into electricity. This according to Bruce Babbitt has a higher rate for energy production than most fossil fuel plants that only produce as much as 50 percent of energy consumed into electricity. Scientist have estimated that just the revamping of 1% of hydroelectricity can improve and supply 300,000 households. Hydro power in many states has become the most reliable and new way of producing energy and promoting renewable resources worldwide. Hydropower is responsible for more than 81% of renewable resources in the United States, and 20% worldwide. The use of the Green Energy Resources “prevents the burning of 22 billion gallons
