A few years ago, while hiking down a hidden trail, I stumbled upon an old military armory. Looking creepier than anything I’d ever seen in person, I quickly continued on, disregarding the now useful armory. After a few more hikes past the old set up, I finally had the courage to take a look around. Surrounded by a high cement wall, one entry and thick woods flanking the sides with a spring fed stream at the back makes a good defense; also, making a good escape plan a good reality. Inside the massive gates a sand road led to a huge concrete building with barred windows. The sand road is perfect for slowing down any predators or threats; zombies and humans alike. And barred windows make the building easy to protect, from both inside and out. Weapons, scavenging, and finding groups to join are all smart things to do, and necessary to survival as stated in the article How to Survive a Zombie Apocalypse: a Beginners Guide. But in the article Top 5 Places to Hide Out During the Zombie Apocalypse, it stresses just how important it is to find a safe and defendable shelter. This is why I need to get there soon. My secret hiking trails were great for a solitary jog but now will be helpful as a way to get to my refuge quick and out of sight. There’s only one problem, the trails are long, winding and dark; zombies could be lurking in every shadow or behind every curve. I’ll need to be extra careful on my journey. I’ll be sure to travel at dusk with just enough light to see. I know these trails better than anyone. If anyone could get there safe it would be me. That’s why this armory is my best option. Once I got there I would pick the lock to the massive gates, a skill I learned from the video How to Pick any Padlock or Combination Lock on YouTube. Inside the safe concrete walls I would lock the gates and set up camp. Quietly of course; I would never want to be too loud or attract any Zombies. Sound carries in the woods. Inside the armo
