In this globalized world of ours, everyone is trying to embellish their lives by sacrificing themselves day and night at the workplace regardless of their family and friends. Running after a luxurious and vainglorious life should not be people’s cup of tea. This is totally not the way a man can live with. Here, we could only feel the stress and depression indeed. Thus, we should seek ways out of these mundane and from my point of view, the greatest weapon against stress is our ability to choose the right way getting over it. Undeniably, stress is an insidious, silent “killer” that brings about adverse effects and complications to our physical, mental, social and psychological health, therefore it is of utmost importance to instill awareness of stress in the public. The most effective medium that can reach out to the public is by having campaign. We can have “stress free” campaign, along with motivational speech, exhibitions and advertising in the mass media, to let the public know about their own stress level, dangers and ways to overcome it. In the school, “stress” topic should be incorporated into the curriculum syllabus so that the students have a basic knowledge on management of stress. School counselors should play a proactive role in this aspect, by detecting potential students with stress problems, counseling and helping them to cope with it. Aside from that, employers should be encouraged to occasionally organize some activities like annual trip, Family Day and Sports Day to relieve the employees from the unbearable working stress and keep their spirits up. This is important not only to prevent employees from getting burned-out, but also improving the efficiency and performance of the company, giving economic benefit in long run.
