Abortion is a highly debated topic, with the main case asking should a woman have the right to choose whether or not she has an abortion. An abortion is when the pregnancy is ended so that it does not result in the birth of a child. Sometimes this is called 'termination of pregnancy'. Abortion is a controversial because there is two sides to the argument. The pro – life are people who against abortion and believe that abortion should be illegal as they believe that the fetus is an innocent person and is morally wrong to end up life of the fetus. But pro-choice the people whose thinks that abortion should be legal as they believe that women should have the right to decide what happens with their body, and also they think that the baby which is not fully developed, the abortion is not a murder. In this essay I will discuss the arguments for and the arguments against abortion. To start with I would like with the biggest argument of abortion is. ‘’ when does the life begin?’’ pro - choice arguments are that the fetus is not a person so has no right to life. "A fetus isn't a person until implantation or until quickening or viability or when it first breathes." But only until certain date, up to twenty four weeks, after is too late except is the fetus is detected with mental or physical disorders. Therefore even unborn zygote gains rights as it develops. Pro-life advocates believe that a human is made as soon as the sperm joins with the egg. So they saying that fetus is alive and has separate DNA, therefore is potential human being and has rights to life as a unique individual since the sperm and egg was joined. (Alcorn, 2002-2008) However, another big argument is that the people who believes that abortion should be legal in the case like woman was raped. Women often would not like to keep the rapist child as the child would remind her every single day that horrible day and this may increase the chance get mental disease like depression or even lead to suicide.
