Abortion is a widely controversial topic today and has been for quite a long time. Abortion is such a controversial topic due to its relations to ethical, moral, philosophical, biological, and legal issues. There are pro-life groups (thoughts against abortion) and pro-choice groups (those who are not against abortion). Each group has a separate feeling about abortion; however, it is seen as a personal topic because it can be known to touch on a person’s value system. When looked at logically though, one can see that abortion will always have a need, and to make illegal is infringing on one’s rights as well as imposing possible problems for that person, but really, it’s no one else’s business but that person going through the process. Pro-life groups have one main reason for being against abortion, which is that abortion is murder as a fetus is still a human. It’s clear to see how people in the said group fail to realize that abortion can be something that is needed to save the carriers life or simply to prevent a hardship (whether on the mother or the child). They feel that just because someone became pregnant, it’s their fault for having sex, even if it was a result of rape, they should assume responsibility of caring for a child. They don't look at the fact that some expecting with carry on with an abortion because they may be unable to financially support both themselves and the baby, it could be against their beliefs, to prevent fatal health conditions (in mother and/or child), due to a failed contraceptive, or if as a result of rape, could cause mental illness and severe distress. Pro-life groups have a one-sided look on abortion and are doing wrong by disregarding the mother as a human being as well, and ultimately punishing her by making her feel bad or inhuman for aborting a fetus.
