America has experienced many changes since the end of World War II. Most of those changes involve technological, social or economic changes. There have also been some great moments that have impacted the lives of many average Americans and that will continue to influence future generations. The United States has made many strides in technological advances or changes. The greatest advance that our country has faced is the creation of the Interstate Highway and Defense System Act created in 1956. This Act was known as Eisenhower’s greatest domestic initiative, and with this Act law authorized the construction of a highway system which accelerated the mobility of people and goods across the country; it also benefited the trucking, construction, and the automobile industry. There is no way that without this highway we would be where we are today as people and as a country if we did not have the highways. These highways have created many jobs that we would have never have had if the highways were not developed. Along with the development of highways new technologies have been created in the Farming industry and have made great progress in improving the industry. Crop Specialization, fertilizers, and mechanization have majorly influenced the direction of where farming was going. If it weren’t for machines our agriculture production today would not be anywhere near half of what it is. Machines have improved harvesting rates and dropped the costs of harvesting. Along with the new technologies in farming there have also been many new technologies changing the manufacturing of a car, electronics, chemicals, and air-transportation. The electronics industry has transformed tremendously. Electronics has changed politics in a way that could never have been possible without television. Presidential campaigns started to change in 1952 once TV ads were added to the mix. Now with television ads money came into the mix because of the high prices of television spots, so because of these high ad prices money is now the major player in political campaigns.
