Question What elements of this book qualify it as the selected genre? Response This book is an epistolary novel, because it is written in the form of letters, and it is also non fiction. Question Can you explain the rating you've given this book? Response I give this book 5 stars, because the story is so unique and touching and it relates to what teens go through now a days. The story itself lets us view Charlie’s struggles and psychological issues and gives us his view on how he sees the world. We get to see Charlie’s memories from his past and we get to see how he handles and views things, because of that past. I really enjoyed the storyline, and also the quotes the book mentions. “We accept the love we think we deserve.” There was some inappropriate context, so I suggest only a mature based audience should read it. I love how the book is so relatable, and how we can understand Charlie’s first and last views on high school. The story itself was very easy to understand and yet still very well-written and fascinating. Question What is the author’s purpose/intent in writing this piece? Response I think the author wanted to try and connect with teens and give them a beautiful story that we can base our lives off of, including some quotes that are very meaningful. I think the author wanted us to learn how to accept and even deal with life struggles, especially in high school. He shows us his point of view in different situations, and how he thinks he should deal with them. It is very relatable in terms of when you feel like the outlier, or when you feel like you're on you own or feel like you think differently from everyone else. It is said that high school changes you. It is when you find your true friends and when you find you who are. In the story, it shows how Charlie meets his true friends and even shows how he finds himself during his crazy experience in high school. Question How does this book affirm a Christian worldview? In what ways does it contradict Christian beliefs? Answer From
