Entrepreneurship is defined as having a broad vision, high passion, and compassion for an innovative idea. These are all physiognomies that entrepreneur Bill Gates would define as successful behaviors of entrepreneurship. Gates, the co-founder, chairman, and chief executive officer of Microsoft Corporation is one of the most influential people in the world, enterprising a global market creating the most popular operating system in the world, revolutionizing the computing industry. Gates has been this centuries leading vision of entrepreneurship and innovative success. Gates defines entrepreneurship more than the typical characteristic of empowerment; he defines success as “Striving to live out a life that makes a difference in this world; and giving back more than what you've taken from society. Your life then will be a true success,” (Giacon, n.d.) Entrepreneurship is not necessarily a job title, but a state of mind to those who envision a changed world. Society today has more opportunities available than ever before; some may predict today's emerging breed of entrepreneurship as the rising of a new economy. Entrepreneurship today is about having an open-minded vision about the motivation (entrepreneur idea), and then usefully applying that focus on making a meaningful difference. Entrepreneurship has always had the intent of success wrapped around innovative ideas. However, the old model represented how to make money, whereas today's model is more focused on how to change the world. Lance Armstrong, a professional road-racing cyclist, quotes “time is limited, so I better wake up every morning fresh and know that I have just one chance to live this particular day and right, and to string my days together into a life of action, and purpose” (Scheurell, 2014, Para 5). This is how the new paradigm of entrepreneurship should be envisioned. Entrepreneurship is about understanding and influencing a new approach to entrepreneurship that not only encourages natural talents and inclinations, but also teaches strategic planning, the ability to change the world, while making money.
