Abstract The Paleolithic (Paleo) diet is a way of life that is structured around how our ancestor consumed food. In this study we will be defining, examining, and debating what it means to live the Paleolithic diet. This paper will discuss how we as a society shifted from hunting and gathering to processed foods, and how eating “clean” meats can put your metabolic system back into homeostasis. We will also discuss how paleo really isn't particle in today’s modern time. How eating to much red meat can lead to CVD (Cardiovascular Disease). The objective of this paper is to shine light into the controversial question, "Is Paleo for you?" What is a Paleolithic Diet? Paleolithic (Paleo) Diet, also called the caveman diet, is a new way of life some my say, or more like, it’s the old way of life used in modern times. We must first understand where this way of living derived from, and where we are at now, before we can discuses the benefits or the harmfulness of this life style. The way our society consumes food has been molded far past how our ancestors gathered prepared, and consumed food. Corporation and government monitoring how food is being made and packaged are now show signs of distress. The question is not if mass-produced food can with provide for us over long term but the question is what is the longevity of societal health. But like any subject there are the counterargument that says modern technology has made life easier, and that with modern technology we are able to get a regulated and balance lifestyle. We must first ask ourselves what has happen in our living style since the Paleolithic age. The evolution of humans can be traced back to the Paleolithic period, 2.6 million to 10,000 years ago. Although the human genome has remained largely unchanged (DNA evidence documents relatively little change in the genome during the past 10,000 years), our diet and lifestyle have become progressively more divergent from those of our ancient ancestors (O’Keefe & Cordain, 2004). How our DNA make-up is now, is very similar to how it was 10,000 years ago. So why are we so different? What has change since then? The answer is agricultural revolution. About 10,000 years ago there was shift from our ancestor’s lifestyle to the fast and ready “I want it now” society that we are today. The main contribution of the agricultural revolution
