Introduction In most parts of the world, it has been found most commonly that the majority of couples marry each other to accomplish and complete their love and to strengthen the personal commitment they made to each other (Ponce et al., 2010). Many of the couples often want an official or public statement or approval of commitment to get benefits and rights within the society. Many of the couples desire for the support and intangible benefits that marriage brings in their social as well as personal life (Rothblum et al., 2011). The intangible benefits that are usually offered by federal government include the security, protection, insurance, spiritual significance, dignity, respect, stability, clarity and an expectation of permanence. In various parts of the United States, most of the same-sex couples (likewise gay couples) share and enjoy the same legal benefits and aspirations after the official commitment (Goldberg, 2010). According to the United States official report acquired in the year 2004 claimed that there were in total 1,138 tangible benefits and aspirations that marriage brings along for the couples (Rothblum et al., 2011). These tangible benefits include protection and rights which are provided to the couples and their kids. However, gay marriages are not widely accepted in all the states of the U.S. Many state governments completely deny the access of legal rights of protection, security and other aspirations to same sex marriages. In many parts of the United States, gay couples are considered as the spouses, even if they get married legally (Rothblum et al., 2011). The debate whether the gay couples should get rights equal to that of the heterogeneous couples has been set on fire, since years. Number of people, philosophers, socialists, theorists and civilians believe that gay marriages does not make any sense and that they should not be facilitated with all the legal marriage related rights (Goldberg, 2010).
