Assignment Using real world examples, compare and contrast the strengths and weaknesses of two Ways of Knowing (WOKs), [reasoning, language, perception] and discuss which of these you take to be more reliable in generating certainty. Explain why you think it is more reliable. Response The term "Way of Knowing" is defined as a method used to explain how one, as a result of comprehending something, comes to a conclusion, as well as to verify the truth in said conclusion. Two Ways of Knowing (WOKs) such as reasoning and perception assist in our understanding of phenomena that occur. Firstly, reasoning and perception are both capable in allowing us to know due to the fact that both WOKs are self-induced, which means that whatever information that we understand is purely a result of our own understanding and not derived from the possibly fictitious persuasion from external influence. For instance, if person A was declared to be a thief due to witnesses' reports, person B who heard this information would analyze such a possibility using said WOKs, instead of jumping into the conclusion without considering the possibility of partiality amongst the witnesses. This allows us to perceive the phenomena as objectively as possible, thus making both of them effective WOKs. Secondly, the difference between the strength and effectuality of reasoning and perception vary greatly between each other. Reasoning is achieved by the analysis of a source of information from a single source, but perception is the analysis of such information from a variety of senses. For instance, if a doctor were to pronounce someone dead as a result of internal bleeding during a car accident, reasoning would allow you to come to such a conclusion if you happened to be beside him during the accident. However, perception allows you to conclude that he is dead as you were able to see the massive amounts of bleeding that he had during the accident, smell the stench of fresh blo
