Kumbira is one of the very few events in Cagayan de Oro that attracts both students and professionals. This year 2014 is the 18th KUMBIRA event held at Limketkai Atrium Cagayan de Oro City. It is a 3 day event of activities from showdowns, free seminars and exhibits .Schools often ask their students to witness the live competitions and show support to aspiring chefs from their institution. Chefs give their best to show the organizers, judges, and visitors their culinary masterpieces. Despite the stiff competition, the atmosphere at every Kumbira event is always fun, lively, and even inspiring. The word Kumbira itself it sounds interesting; because it is the contest of different categories in different schools. It is a culinary contest which developed and enhanced the capability and capacity of each competitors and it is the competition of Student category and a chef categories. It is not my first time now so I expect more than last year competition. An awesome decoration, designs even colorful cake decoration. I expect I can see those lovely table set ups and even those carving designs with its uniqueness and those cute cup cakes as well as the live competition of Bartending, bed Make up and even flair tending and many more. For the 2013 Kumbira,every competition was exciting. Crowds gathered to watch and cheer for their favorites. I attended the 1std day event just to check them out. We saw a lot of students gathering from different schools. And then suddenly I just bumped into someone I know and I didn't expect it was my batch mate in high school. So later on, as we passed through different booths, we directly go to table set up section and surprisingly the first table set up we saw from the left corner was done by our school participants.
