Through Puck's mischievous, quick witted, pranks, and transformations, he triggers the most memorable moments in Shakespeare's play "A Midsummer Night's Dream." Puck is a minor character whose presence makes a difference in keeping one's attention. This mischievous fairy complicates things with pranks that propel main plots of the play. Puck's fun loving humor, and deliberate pranks are what added interest to the play. The first impression gathered from Puck, don't get on this guy's bad side, or he will get you when you aren't paying attention. Shortly, after these spoken words, "Sometime a horse I'll be, sometime a hound, a hog, a headless bear, sometime a fire; And neigh, and bark, and grunt, and roar, and burn, like horse, hound, hog, hog, bear, fire, at every turn" (3.1.102-105).
