During ancient times or existed former time education was a natural learning process of the struggle for survival. Matured adults trained the younger members of their community about the knowledge and skills which they needed to be passed on. Adult education will be around as long as we try to make a living. Learning is an act or process of gaining experiences, knowledge or skills. “Adult education of age 16 and older increased from 40% in 1995 to 46% in 2001, then decreased to 44% in 2005" (National Center for Education Statistics, 2007). Adult learning seems to be more complex than most suggest. Three principles providing a foundation for adult learners are being in charge of their own learning being responsible learning, and their own judgment. Initially, adult learners enters the training or education environment with a deep need to be self-directing. They take a leadership role in their learning by wanting to learn more about the course, or activities. Meanwhile teachers can help adult learner acquire new knowledge and develop new skills. Also they cannot do the learning for adult learners. Therefore it’s up to adult learner to ask question while in a classroom setting. Adult learners are more motivated to learn when they have the need to know. They want to know how instruction will help them. Often asking themselves questions. What’s in it for me? Why do I need this information? How can it prepare me to become more active in my scholarly life? Also, most adult learners prefer to take considerable responsibility for their own learning. When given the opportunity two-thirds of all adults learning activities are planned by a learner themselves. Adult learners are involved in assessing their own learning needs early in the process. This provides them with some initial direction for subsequent planning, securing of resources, and focusing their learning efforts one further aspect of adulthood should be noted.
