Question What is engineering? Based on your current perception, in a few sentences define the term "engineering." Response Chemical Engineering These are the engineers that discover and manufacture better plastics, paints, fuels, etc. http://www.discoverengineering.org/ The problems that chemical engineers may face, may be alternative energy sources, or how to make a recyclable plastic that completely breaks down. Civil Engineering These are the engineers that watch over the construction of buildings, stadiums, roads, bridges, etc. One problem that civil engineers face, is making earthquake resistant buildings, or sporting venues where everybody can have a perfect view of the field. They're not the ones who design the buildings but, get the building started. Electrical Engineering This engineering field is the largest field out of all engineering fields. They deal with micro and macro. They deal with the fun things in life such as MP3 players. The problems that these engineers face are ways to use less energy to power the same product. Mechanical Engineering These are the types of engineers that design bike locks, aircraft carrier, a child's toy, or even a hybrid engine. The problem these engineers face is basically making anything mechanical better and more advanced to use less gas or to do something faster and more precise. Manufacture Engineering These are the engineers that deal with building something from the beginning of it to the very end. - This type of engineer is basically an extension of civil because, they both deal with building things. The only difference is that Manufacturing engineers don't make new things they just try to lower the cost of building products. - My achievement is electronics. This is one of the biggest advances for engineering. Such as the iPhone, it has a camera, can use the internet, and it is a phone. They have also made the Xbox, PlayStation, etc. - I believe it mostly deals with
