Growing up in a family that everything was centered on mainly sports can be tough at times but it makes me set goals. My junior year in high school, we got a new head coach, He changed everything about the way we played. Entering the new season with skeptics saying it would be a rebuilding year because we had a new coach. It was our chance to prove them wrong. The first game of the season was against a long time rival from the same town. Watching film from past years and preparing for the game, in my head we had the W easily, but Bossier High school was not going to let that happen without a fight to the very end. It was my first year to start as a wide receiver at Airline with three other guys who had never played varsity before. We were very young up front with the guys that we depended on at the receiver spot the most. Also preseason we had experienced several injuries so we went into it wounded but we were still going to give it everything that we had to win. We went into the game a little big headed and confident. Through the game we fought as hard as we could on both sides of the ball just to find out that we were not quite as good as we had thought. At kickoff, I was feeling all the adrenalin and ready to hit some people, which I did, but they were stopping us short of the end zone every time we touched the ball. By the end of the third quarter, we were down by a touchdown. Many of our fans that were leaving by this point were giving up hope on us to pull out the win. On the side lines I started yelling at our offense to get everyone pumped to finish out the game with everything that they had and to not hold anything back. I took charge of the huddle on the field as we got set to make a final drive in the fourth quarter with just a few minutes remaining.
