Very often we see that terms such as Developed and Developing nations are echoed at more than one forum, specifically at summits which has great importance in terms of trade and economic activities. What do these terms specifically mean or refer to? These terms are coined by the colonial masters who term themselves as the Developed nations and their once a upon a time colonies as developing. The word developing is used for countries like China, India, Brazil, South Africa and Russia who have shown considerable economic growth in last few decades. India among them is probably the sole nation on the path to re-define its economic status not just in the SE ASIA but in the world. One factor in late 1990’s and early 2000’s that speeded up Indian economy was the introduction of mobile phones. For centuries India has been divided basis caste system. Socializing amongst these caste was forbidden for centuries. Communication was non- existent and society had clear demarcations amongst men. The Independent India had brought some relief to this system however the caste system did not entirely abolish, hence there was a need for some bridge to gap this caste system. When mobile phone was introduced no one thought that this small instrument with some great technological advancement would attempt to address the differences in the caste system. India is no doubt the biggest and possibly the youngest fully functional democratic system in the world. It has been constantly under invasions and rulers for almost a thousand years. People have tried to colonize this country since the time of Alexander the great, and even the mighty Christopher Columbus set out on a voyage to find the Great Indian Plains that yielded gold and spices.
