What exactly is genocide? Well, according to Google genocide is the deliberate killing of a large group of people, especially those of a particular ethnic group or nation (Google 2014). Genocide in general is not only bad but gruesome. .It makes no sense to just deliberately kill a group of people of the same ethnic group or nation because you happen to think that those particular group of people are evil because of the way you were raised or due to the fact that you just dont like them. The Holocaust, the worlds most infamous instances of genocide, for example, was unnecessary. I personally believe that a country should at least try to intervene when another country participates in genocide, but I understand that under some circumstances a country may not be able to intervene. The Holocaust, as mentioned above, was the worlds most infamous instances of genocide. The Holocaust happened between 1933 and 1945. Approximately six million Jews were murdered. Although Hitler was a major contributor to the Holocaust he did not make it happen by himself. There were many Germans and non-Germans that either contributed or benefited from the Final Solution. The Final Solution was the Nazis term for their plan to exterminate the Jews. The Jews were singled out for extermination because of the Nazis belief that Jews were a race that were trying to overpower the Nordic-Germanic races. While all of this was happening in Germany I believe that another country should have intervened. If a country had intervened a lot lives would have been saved. When you sit down and really think about it, it is morally wrong to let something like this happen while you sit there and do nothing. A country should intervene during a genocide because in some way or form we are all going to be affected by the consequences. Although I believe that a country should intervene they may have reasons as to why they cant and/or shouldnt. A country may not have intervened
