Watching What I Eat

As far back as I can remember I have always been a picky eater, if my mom said I couldn't leave the table until I ate my vegetables I'd sit there all night. I'm not sure exactly when I started to dislike the taste or smell of certain foods but I do know it's stayed with me for some time now. No matter what the food is for me to eat it I have to put it through the smell test, if I don't like the smell of a food chances are I'm not going to eat it. Then even if I do try a particular food I have to like the texture of it while eating it. After leaving many foods behind because they didn't pass the tests I began to try some again because of the nutritional value. Out of all the foods I have decided to invite back into my diet there is one that I continue to leave out and that's broccoli. As a Personal Trainer I have to preach to clients about the importance of a healthy lifestyle. When I talk to them about nutrition the question "what should I eat?  always comes up. Whenever I answer that I always seem to include broccoli when it comes to vegetables, but in my diet I leave it out. Even after knowing how healthy broccoli is for me I still forget about it when it comes to my plate. For me it's just the one food that I could never bring myself around to eat. For this assignment I was going to try to make myself eat broccoli but instead I thought I'd just investigate the reasoning as to why I never adopted this food into my diet in the first place. My earliest memory of broccoli was when I was over a friend's house and they invited me to eat dinner there. Thinking we would just have chicken nuggets I begged my mom to let me stay. When we sat down to eat dinner I had the chicken as expected and then I was urged to eat a few other foods that were prepared.
