The society has been shaping us since the early stage of our life. Since born we had been categorize through sex where the society had their first perspective on how a particular sex should be in future. Gender refers to the personal traits and social positions that members of a society attach to being males or females (Macionis, J.J. (2012). Sociology (14th Edition). New Jersey: Pearson Education Inc, page 294). People are not born with gender but they cultivate it over time as they learn culture expectation of being boy or a girl. From birth until death, gender shapes human feelings, thoughts and action. It means that different gender portrays different emotions, the way they think of something and the way they convey their actions. This is where the attributes are differ between gender. For instants, females should portrays their feminine character where they tend to be more nurturing, sacrificial, weak, emotional, passive and cooperative. This is why females are more suitable in nurturing jobs such as teachers, housewives, and counsellors. Females are considered to be more caring and organise where they are more suitable in educating and consoling other people due to their nature. For example, housewives stay at home to do housework and educate their children due to their feminine character. This is because they are more gentle and caring in bringing up a child and systematic in put all the house chores in order. A particular gender is something that is cultivate into a person, for example a female is been taught to act like a girl and vice versa.
