Whatever the views to the family life would be, happy, stable families and stand for family values are definitely the symbol of family prosperity. According to sociologists, marriage is still mainstream, although the understanding of ideal family and so-called Victorian values are in the past. Nevertheless there is a popular opinion about family unit in Britain is in crisis. Moreover some politicians are disposed to blame for the numerous troubles of family life. As a rule, family is a group of people, living together with common aim, for example, to provide with shelter and food, and also upbring the children. Sociologists devide families into 2 categories: nuclear family, consisting of 2 parents and 2 children, and extended family. However the «normal» family is considered to be typical, but the number of such families shrinks year after year. In the beginning of 21 century family life in Britain considerably changed. Same-sex marriages and it's styles of life, one-parent families are became acceptable and children got more freedom. The thing is that women in Britain began to find paid jobs and make up 44% of the workforce. At a time, however the number of women increases who became the breadwinners of their families, their jobs are low-paid and temporary. Looking after the children is a topical issue in Britain, because «small adults» became popular unfortunately, who is not under surveillance. The parents may invite a babysiter or register their child to child care centers, where experienced nursemaids work. As it can cost a lot, majority can sent their child to day nurseries. The parents with young children have to work part time to fit in with school hours. In 1971 the divorce legislation facilitated the disruption of marriage.
