Lets be realistic; space exploration is pretty amazing. But, it has a lot of consequences. I think both the consequences and benefits of space exploration are both amazing but the consequences are direr. I think the study and exploration of space is risky. I believe it is risky because it can result in death, it causes space pollution, it can have several malfunctions, and it cost a lot of money. The government should stop space exploration because space exploration can result in death or injury. For example, the Challenger blew up on Jan. 28th 1986: “When the shuttle exploded just 73 seconds after take-off, McAuliffe died along with six other astronauts.” (Sohn 1). This fact shows that people can die from space exploration. This quote supports the point because it shows that space exploration is very risky and death can be a consequence. Also, Columbia’s downfall began 83 seconds after launch. “superheated air broke apart the weakened wing and the whole shuttle shattered.” (Sohn 1). This evidence shows that spaceships can malfunction and cause death. This example supports the point because it shows what can happen during space exploration and death is a main consequence. Therefore, space exploration should be discontinued because it can result in death. The government should stop space exploration because it can be a waste of money. For example, “The space agency estimates the mission will cost $629 million and the Hubble project has already cost tax payers $3 million through the 1993 fiscal year.” (Wilford 1). This fact shows that missions back then were about $629 million per mission but, missions now cost about $9.38 trillion per mission. This quote supports the point because it shows how space exploration cost a lot of money. For example, “Space exploration has always been a gimmick. The U.S.A. was only doing it to look better than U.S.S.R. and then vice versa; it hasn’t really been about science. (Space Explorat
