The story told in the poem illustrates the central argument in the book "The Road to Freedom: How to Win the Fight for Free Enterprise  by Arthur C. Brooks in a few ways. The poem starts off by stating "There are two tame ducks in our backyard . The two tame ducks could be representing the government and the citizens. In "The Road to Freedom , Brooks clarified that "Most Americans believe our country is on the wrong track. Government spending is out of control and shows no signs of relenting. A record-high 8 in 10 citizens are dissatisfied with the way our government is operating.  The citizens see the government having too much power limits them from doing certain things and also leads them to being treated unfairly. The governments power has really lead America to be in an Economic funk. As protesters occupied Wall Street the dissatisfied Americans were easy to spot out. Citizens also see the government leading America in the wrong direction. Brooks supposes that one of the efficient ways to repair this delinquent is by returning to free enterprise. Free Enterprise allows us to earn our own success. In the poem it also stated "They cock a quizzical, puzzled eye, and flap their wings and try to fly.  That relates to Brooks' text because it illustrates how the government and the citizens have altercations with the way the government handles business and how the government has too much power. Also it illustrates how the citizens also have their protest. For example occupy Wall Street, Philly, New York and etc. Events like those happen when they don't agree with what the government tries to do and citizens want their voices to be heard and things changed. When it comes to Free Enterprise it emboldens true fairness constructed on merit opportunities. Although Free Enterprise can seem like a tough decision and choice right now for America. It requires you to think hard about the way you spend and borrow. In the poem it teaches
