Labor Day is my favorite time of year because every year since I’ve been two years old our family has gone up to Bayfield, Wisconsin. Bayfield is way up in northern Wisconsin on the edge of Lake Superior by the Apostle Islands. It is about nine hours of driving north form where I live in Park View, Iowa. Park View is not technically even a town; it is a Census Designated Place, or CDP. Park View and Bayfield are very different based on what you can do in each, but they are fairly similar in how the community acts. Living in Park View I have found that one of the best things to do is to take a walk or bike ride on the paths there. These paths go all around the central part of Park View and even past the school. The name of Park View also came from the paths, the town's ‘motto’ is, “where you walk to play (owner's association),” and that is because as a person is enjoying a nice view and walk there are several parks with playground equipment along the way so the little tykes can be entertained. Park View doesn’t have very many businesses or even a post office so you have to go to Eldridge or Davenport a lot, which Parkview luckily is not far from either. With the several ball diamonds and soccer fields to play on and for teams to practice, there is a lot to do for a place that isn’t even a town. The biggest difference between Park View and Bayfield has to be the fact that Bayfield has several more things to do. With Bayfield being a city on one of the Great Lakes it has the advantage of kayaking, canoeing, surfing, and boating; the Apostle Islands that are in the lake provide things to do when on the water, some are close and you can take a ferry or kayak, others however take about an hour by boat. The thing that the islands all have is lighthouses, and there is a company that offers a different island’s lighthouse tour every week and sometimes a day long all in one tour. Like Park View Bayfield has paths everyw
