Her name was Caroline, but everybody called her Miss Carry. She would pass by my house every day after school to spend some time with me. Her jokes would be funnier and funnier every time she came over, just how I liked it. Miss Carry's hair was kind of gold with some brown in it. I loved doing her ponytails because of how long it was. Her teeth would sparkle and she would light up my day every time I made her laugh or smile. One day she came over and she looked a bit unhappy. I hated that. I asked, "What's wrong Miss Carry?  "Nothing sweetie, how was your day?  she replied. I knew there was something wrong with her, but she really wouldn't tell me why, so I began to cry on her lap. She gave me a big kiss on my forehead and I was all better. I began telling her about the boy at my school named Howard who was really mean. I told her about how he stole my pencil and wouldn't give it back, and how I told Ms Mousey about him stealing it and she didn't even believe me and that it got me upset, so I took one of Howard's pencil, broke it and he started to cry. "Honey, when someone does something to you, it never pays to do it back to them  She said. "But--  "But nothing, promise me you'll never do something back to someone that did something to you, okay Ells?  "Okay, I promise,  I said softly, as I slowly walked away with my head down. It was almost time for her to leave, but before she left I heard her and Papa whispering angrily in the kitchen. He said something and she got furious, picked up her bags and was off. "Bye Ells, see you tomorrow,  she said in an angry tone, as she walked through the front door. "Bye Miss Carry!  I replied cheerfully. When she left, I went up into my room and tried to remember all the wonderful jokes she shared today.
