This is my third year study aboard, far away from my home China. As I mentioned, I'm an international student from China. I have been study at Seattle for the last two years, and this is my first year study at University of Minnesota. I love moving around, I really enjoy traveling since I was young; I have traveled Egypt, Turkey, and many other countries. Because of I have some real intercultural experiences; so during this paper I will share some of my own experiences about intercultural relationship and some opinions about intercultural communication based on my own experiences. At December of 2011, I decided study aboard at America, which is really popular choice recently. The three main reasons that I want to study aboard are better education, personal experience, and intercultural understanding. First, as we all know, American has the best education in the world. After I graduate from my senior high school, I apply some of schools at Seattle, then after 2 years study at Seattle I decided transfer somewhere else, so I came to the Twin city. It is really excellent pathway for me during the last 3 years. I have received a lot of good and bad experiences about intercultural communication and understanding; also I have learned the effective ways to communicate with American friend, professor, and officer. The best lesson for me is not the lectures from the professors, it is the cultures I have touched, learned and the ways I should communicate with others. Second, I am that kind of person who can't stay at one place too long. I love travel, and love to know the people from other culture, love to communicate with them. This is why I studying communication as major. The personal experience is much better than what you read on books, or watched from TV, the best way to understand a culture is to touch it, to feel it, to make friends with them and American is a really good place to know other cultures. Third, there are so many different cultures are living at United State, and they can understand each other. I hope I can learn something from it, how they melting at here. Why they can understand each other with respect. The world is going to be smaller and smaller because of globalization and technologies, and the results are we have to know each other better than ever before.
