Chicago Military Academy was the very first public military schools in the nation. For any student looking for a future in life; this would be one of your choices. During the end of my 8th grade year finding a high school that was perfect for me was hard to come by. When I first heard about this school I thought to myself perfect. By me wanting a military career I thought to myself why not start early? I wanted to get into this school so bad, more than anything! Some cadets that go to CMA-B either were forced to go here, or they couldnt go to their neighborhood school, because their parents feared for their childs safety. For me that was none of the reasons why I wanted to go to this school. When I got that letter in the mail saying to come in for a interview sparks of happiness flew across the room. I made sure that I was on time and professional about every question they asked me. When I got accepted to CMA-B it was kind of like getting drafted to the team of my choice. Knowing that this is a military Academy I knew there was no room for goofing off. What this school really means to me is my future and a gateway to success. This school is like a guide to become the man that Im growing into.I feels like if I never heard about this school I honestly think I wouldnt care if I passed or failed. This school in away gives me hope for myself. Just by me going here, and wearing the uniform, already sets me aside from the public. By me wearing my class of 2016 sweater everyday makes me feel that I belong somewhere, and that Im going somewhere in life. I grew to love this school not, because my friends go here, or because its a military school. I love this school, because to me it feels that Im at home, and that I feel accepted. In my two years being here, I came to realize that some cadets that go here shouldnt be here.
