Fossil fuel uses coal, oil, and gas, and it gives out 40% of the world’s energy. Everybody in America uses about three tons of the coal for energy every year. Ten tons of the coal in America is used to generate power, and “Coal ash is used as filler for tennis rackets, golf balls, and linoleum”. Texas uses the most coal in America. It uses about 100 million tons each year. Coal is a nonrenewable energy source, and was formed about 300 million years ago. Coal takes about 1 million years to reproduce. It is mostly transported by trains. Coal is mined in 27 American states, and it is called a dirty energy source because of its effects on the environment. It pollutes the air and kills animals from them inhaling the pollution. Oil is a liquid that stays at room temperature, and oil doesn’t mix with water. There are different kinds of oils, like olive oil, car oil, and greasing oil. Olive oil is used to cook with, car oil is used for cars and motor vehicles, and greasing oil is for hair and smoothing. Car oil is the most expensive, because it is for transportation, but there is still a problem with the oil energy. The prices are the biggest deal because more people need more money. Gasoline is too much money, and not a lot people can afford it. There are different types of gases, like compressed gases, elemental gases, pure or mixed, and toxic gases. A car usually takes pure or mixed fuel. Gas is a state of matter just like solids and liquids. Gases are only made of 1 atom if there pure, like neon. Gases that are compound have a combination of atoms. The air that we breathe is made of different types of gases, like argon, oxygen, nitrogen, and more. Gas still releases carbon dioxide into the air and pollutes the world. < http://www.sciencekids.co.nz/sciencefacts/earth/gas.html > < http://www.catf.us/fossil/gas/ > Wind energy was first made in china and Persia, and have been here since 2000 B.C.
