If you walk around Motor City on a Friday night, you might notice some bright lights, loud music, and people dancing and having a great time. But if you step inside, you will see a whole new way of having fun. Its the new dance phenomenon that has rolled into towns all over the country. You probably have even tried to do it yourself. Its called Breakdancing. Breakdancing is the new and latest style for young people across the nation. It requires the person to be very agile, fit, and the person must have rhythm. This new style is taking over and changing the dance world forever. So lets take a field trip to Detroit, Michigan's hottest club, City Break. City Break won over the hearts of young adults across Mid-Michigan. This new club is located right on Woodward Avenue and was established in 1975. This decade old club used to be a run down, boarded up mess, but new ownership changed that immediately. Equipped with a state of the art bar, private rooms for the affluent, and of course the biggest dance floor in town. This monster sized floor can hold up to 150 raging people. And the DJ is the best in town according to a street survey, DJ Sparky has been around for years and has the loudest, freshest, and coolest music. Sparky is also quite the dancer. A reigning Detroits Best Dancer Award, he is the king of breakdancing. So lets head inside so we can learn some moves and of course, meet some people. Bright lights, loud music, funky outfits, this is the world of young people around the country. The song Electric Boogie by Wolfgang VonWebenau, is blaring and people are raging. DJ Sparky decides to show some moves. His first move called The Toprock, is a general move that requires the person to not be as experienced. Many people refer this to as the warm up move. Another move, called The Power Move, is when the dancer goes into a spinning motion and is considered a tough move. He is a natural at them and introduces some friends to us. Big D
