Jason is a 36 year old, single, African American male who has reported signs regarding his work performance and his difficulty to connect with others socially and feelings of emptiness. All throughout Jason's life he worried about people's perception of him and never really had any true friends. In this paper I will develop a diagnosis for Jason's case, and state a potential relevant diagnosis. Also, I will prepare a treatment plan of best fit regarding Jason's concerns. I will conclude this paper by offering any of treatments that are crucial to Jason's case for him to get a better understanding of his diagnosis. 1. Diagnosis Jason first meets the diagnosis of someone with a mild case of social anxiety disorder. There are many factors of social anxiety disorder including being critiqued and embarrassed by others (National Institute of Mental Health, 2014). Jason shows signs of "Having a hard time making friends and keeping friends (National Institute of Mental Health, 2014). For example when he states that he "sucked at developing relationships and that "people just don't like him which makes it difficult for him to create a long lasting relationship with anyone. Also that he is worried about others perception of him which leads him to avoid interacting with others. His relationship with is family seems to be a key factor because they are very distant despite his mother but she isn't always around. Jason isn't really close to his dad or maternal twin brother whom he states that he barely knows anything about even though he lives nearby. In addition, Jason expresses signs of SAD because people usually are " ¦  very afraid that other people will judge them (National Institute of Mental Health, 2014), especially when he talks about being homosexual and that he only came out to his mother and brother. Furthermore, Jason states that his maternal aunt and grandmother were very critical of him which can indicate that he believes everyone has high expectations for him to fulfill. Jason also shows signs of social phobia when he was offered the opportunity to advance in a management position but later declined, which appears that Jason would rather stick to things that he is more comfortable doing instead of branching out. "Studies have shown that social anxiety disorder usually starts during youth (National Institute of Mental Health, 2014). Jason shows a clear example of this when he describes that even when he was growing up he described himself as a loner with only a few friends. Lastly Jason was the only black employee at his workplace and one of the few black individuals in a primarily affluent, conservative white community. This can lead him so having social phobia because he couldn't relate to any of his co-workers. 2. Potential Diagnosis Jason also shows some indication of Depression, predominantly because he expresses having increased difficulty concentrating, problems sleeping, a decreased appetite, and irritability for the past 2-3 months. When someone is suffering from depression "It interferes with daily life (National Institute of Mental Health, 2014). There are several forms of depressions but in Jason's cas
