What did you notice? For my first store I choose to analyze the popular busyness of Sports Authority. As I approached the entrance I noticed a large banner hanging over head that supported the Giants and there world series, claiming they sell official MLB products. As I progressed inside immediately in front of me are chest high racks of Giants and other MLB merchandise. This caught me by surprise for I didnt expect that to be directly in front of the door. Once passing the MLB items, I look up to see a sea of woman clothing, with the mens clothes located to the left of the womans section. I estimate that of all the area dedicated to selling items, clothing was given about 50% of the floor space. I noticed that the store didnt have any hanging signs that separated sections, instead they use tall display cases with the company name clearly advertised on top. The entire back of the store was dedicates to shoes. I believe this is the second biggest sales item in the store due to size of floor space dedicated to this section. The left side of the store was divided into rows of individual field and popular sports. I believe this is for individuals specifically looking for equipment. While on the right side in smaller sections, the store had displayed home gym equipment, out door kits, and smaller sports such as golf and tennis. What conditions of the store helped things move along? The isle ways start very clear as one enters the store. With a large path cleared around the clothing in the middle and a walk way that leads directly through the middle to the shoes. The store ways laid out in sections, depending on the customers interest. Shoes and clothes sections are separate and decided by gender. What conditions interfered? In the large center walk way dedicated for customers to travel from the entrance the back shoes section, was cluttered with racks of yoga and misalanious items.
