With time Americans have changed dramatically. We’ve changed the way we dress,the music we listen to,even our way of communicating with each other. But,what has changed the most about people today are their way of thinking;what they think is wrong or right;their religious morals. Most people have lost touch with their morals as christians and their light is no longer shining as bright as it used to or as it is meant to. Christian morality has changed dramatically throughout culture and time but what has changed the most is how today’s christian teenagers represent it. People all over the world believe that their morals are right by the world’s standards. Most people feel that having strong morals are important but their actions contradict what they say. “In a survey done in 2008 on how people feel about having strong morals 98% agreed it is important for me to be a good person with good character.”(Wagner). Although that is a wonderful percentage 82% admitted to lying, 43% admitted to stealing, and 61% believe that a person that is more likely to cheat, lie and break rules are more likely to succeed in life. Strong morals by the world’s standards are irrelevant when you strive to live your life unaccording to it. Being a christian in today’s world calls you to be more than an accepted norm. Having the knowledge of living in today’s world as a christian, there is a clear presentation that biblical morals taught by many have been put on a backburner to be used when they are convenient and to the extent we feel necessary. In many uncomfortable situations we see people throw away the christian morality they say they have been taught and that they so adamantly believe in. The saying “treat people the way you want to be treated” derives from a biblical context and is known by many but rarely seen put into action.
