"Separation of Church and State may be one of the most misunderstood phrases in our culture. Throughout a Houston, Texas current event story by the Mayor Anisse Parker and by church sermons from pastors in her city what was described were constitutional implications also described is the misunderstanding of the word "separation , its origin, and how it will ever be resolved in our nation. Separation of church and state has to do with the first amendment. When the first amendment was written it said "Congress shall make no law respecting and establishment or religion or prohibiting the free exercise therof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances this amendment was written because America didn't want a mandatory religious system like England, Americans did not want to feel like they were forced to go towards the beliefs of one religion.
