We have a problem that everyone needs to turn their attention towards. That problem is the decline of our worlds honey bee population. It has gained more awareness within recent years but this decline has been happening gradually throughout the last decade. This awareness came as the seriousness of the problem worsened. With that said, is it too late for us to be able to fix the problem? For humanities sake, let’s hope not. The honey business is lucrative. Not the caretaking of the honey bees, but the actual manufacturing and selling of the honey that’s made by those bees is. This is because honey is a very popular high in demand nectar. It has owned this popularity since ancient times. According to The Honey Association, honey was used by ancient Greeks and Romans mainly as an offering to their gods but also in a lot of their foods. Often, those foods were the offerings. The desire for honey that humans possess has continued all throughout ancient times and remains today. There is a trending fad that everyone should adopt the use of raw honey for its beneficial characteristics. Many of these characteristics early civilizations were already aware of. Confirmed by Medical News Today, honey has natural antiseptic and antibacterial properties. These are the only two scientifically proven medically beneficial properties of honey. But there are more health benefitting properties that many people believe honey contains although they lack scientific evidence, they make up for when historical support.
