African Americans have had an extensive and vigorous plight when it comes to racial equality in the United States. From the Dred Scott vs Sanford case when the Supreme Court deemed that we were beings of an inferior order, to the absurd Jim Crow laws that stated that we were separate but equal, African Americans have dealt with many obstacles historically and still continue to deal with the short end of the draw socially in the present day. Throughout all of the issues that have been bestowed upon blacks in America, somehow we've found our way to gain full equality in this country, and we're granted all of the rights and opportunities as the people whose ancestors made the pilgrimage from England and landed on Plymouth Rock. Nonetheless, none of the rights that we've earned are more important than the right which was ratified on February 3rd, 1870, which was the fifteenth amendment. The fifteenth amendment is much more important than just allowing us the right to vote, however it ultimately gives African Americans so much power within the political world. The African American vote is very pivotal, and when in full strength and high digit representation African American voters have the ability to swing elections. Furthermore, the African American vote is important simply because more times than not most black people are aligning their allegiance to one side of the ballot. Three fourths of the African American population in the United States when voting tend to vote in favor of the Democratic Party, and it would probably be more of an impact if more of the black demographic actually voted. The one sided affiliation of African Americans to the democratic party isn't much of an inquiry, however tactics on how to get black voters to denounce their affiliations and vote Republican is the real enigma for politicians. Therefore the question remains, how can republicans attract black voters and convert them from blue to red? Let's be hones
