?Dear Mr L________, In Oslo International School, the clothes students wear is really different to one another and due to this it makes education distracting. So we ALL know that using school uniforms would make the learning environment way better for all the students. Here are three reasons as to why school uniforms are better: It looks more professional if all the students wore the same colors and clothing. It saves a lot of the student’s time and money. It also helps to stop bullying in school. Most people would agree that school uniforms decreases bullying. The reason for this is that everyone will be wearing the same clothing so that means, kids won’t be bullied if they don’t own a branded clothing. We all know that all of the teachers and principals are trying to prevent bullying, and you are doing a good job at it. However school uniforms would make sure bullying doesn’t happen again. Professor Margaret Harris, who led the study of bullying, said uniforms “often directly contributed to a feeling of school pride, which they did not want to compromise by bullying outside the school gate.” We can see from the evidence that school uniforms help to stop bullying. School uniforms will also mean that students will be less distracted about how “cool” they look which means that it will also help stop bullying in OIS. If everyone had school uniforms it would save time and money. Surely, you would agree that school uniforms, stop students using useful time on picking out clothes that they think look good whereas they could use this time on studying. After all, school is there for education, not for using time on clothing. Are we expected to use time on clothes or on education? Naturally, I feel that school uniforms will save time and it will also enable the student to get better grades. Moreover, school uniforms helps save money because buying a few school uniforms instead of a new school wardrobe every autumn saves much
