Mark Twain was one of the most universal and Preeminent authors of American Literature. In his time of life he worked hard to create that dry humor that he always had just like in “The Notorious Jumping Frog of Calaveras Country.” The ways that he did this was magnificent and many people could never compare or write like Twain. He was that individual that wrote in many different ways but made it universally awesome. There are four ways that he made his writing spectacular in the book The Notorious Jumping Frog of Calaveras Country. The first way was, that he liked to Spin out at length in his writing which means sort of to go on about a certain topic in the story without stopping and using a period. My example of Spin out of length would have to be, I have lurking suspicion that Leonidas W. Smiley is a myth; that my friend never knew such a personage; and that he only conjectured that if I asked old Wheeler about him, it would remind him of his infamous Jim Smiley, and he would go to work and bore me to death with some exasperating reminiscence of him as long and as tedious as it should be useless to me if that was the design to succeed. (Pg. 576) Instead of stopping and using a period he would have this marvelous way, like this example of using sort of using run on sentences but it would make sense to the reader. That is why he was so awesome because he used semicolons in a lot in his writing which made the reader think, “Hmmm that is very cool how he writes.” “It makes the story seem really interesting and makes me more engaged to read it.” In reality and the positivity of our opinions Mark Twain was nearly hated at all. Some readers won’t like certain authors because the way they write, but not Mark Twain! Ahh, “The good ole Arrives Nowhere in Mark Twain’s writing”, was indeed one of the best literary sorts of devices that he used to portray and get the reader to understand what is going on.
