?The earth is a beautiful place with lush rivers, mountains and biomes. It took millions of years for it to harvest life and maintain a sound ecosystem. It created giant creatures and was completely destroyed, but ended up healing greater than ever and produced a species of intelligent life forms. Little did earth know, these life forms could destroy the planet if they continued living the way they are now. One extra intelligent life form named Al Gore Put together a treaty that included all nations to lend a helping hand to reduce the worlds CO2 emissions by 5%. This treaty is called the Kyoto Protocol. As of 2011 Canada has cut all ties to the Kyoto protocol. Why? Because Canada believes that the treaty is meaningless without the involvement of the worlds top polluters USA and China. Though these countries are still a part of the protocol The US has no targets that it is trying to reach as it believes that it has to pull the weight of developing countries while China, though it is making efforts, pleas ridiculous numbers which are undoubtedly false and corrupt. But is this reason enough to completely abandon the protocol indefinitely? Though Canada is a very small part of the pollution epidemic, and claims that it is a evolving country and needs the energy, the vast amount of land that is unused gives Canada the advantage of using alternative routes to satisfy its energy needs. These routes include wind, solar and hydro plants that harvest the natural energy of the environment and convert it into useful energy to power the growing Canada. Though these alternatives can be expensive, Canada is in a position where urgency is not a large factor. Canada’s population is not overwhelming and we can sufficiently meet the needs of The Kyoto Protocol. So why aren’t we? Because of our friends in the south. Canada exports 98% of its energy to the US. They have forced Canada to dropout of the Kyoto protocol with their increasing demands whi
