?Golf is a sport that is used with a ball and a club. There are many different types of clubs and each club has its own purpose for a specific type of shot. There are many holes on a course and the object of the game is to have the fewest amounts of strokes at the end of the game. Golf is played on golf course, which can either consist of 9 or 18 holes. The game starts where a player tees off and it ends at the putting green where the hole is located. The fairway is the path that leads to the putting green. The rough is off of the fairway or the putting green. The grass is usually thicker which is why it’s called rough. The bunker is also apart of the course. It consists of a pit of sand that people usually try to avoid. It’s one of the hazards of the course. There are three types of hazards: bunkers, water, and the trees right outside of the course. The format of a golf course varies but most of them consist of tee boxes, fairways, greens, sand bunkers, and water. The tee box initiates the hole and is where each golfer playing starts. During the tee shot, the golfer swings for the purpose to hit the fairway ahead. The fairway consists of grass, which is cut very shortly, allowing for easy hitting and hills that can hurt or lend a helping hand to a distance in the end. Rough can be very thick and difficult to hit out of. Good strength is necessary to hit out of thick rough. If not in the fairway or rough, the ball had landed in either water or a sand bunker. If the ball lands in the water, the player must use another ball and another stroke will be added to the score. If the ball lands in a bunker, the ball becomes difficult to play but it definitely is not impossible. From the green, the ball can easily be hit to the hole. The green’s grass is cut very short for the ball to roll without a lot of friction. Professional golfers take putting as a number priority to being great.
