Bethany Hamilton, who at age thirteen had her arm torn off by a shark, lives with the daily struggle of having to have a limb amputated. Now, as an adult, she inspires people throughout the world with disabilities and traumatic amputees with her life changing story. At age four, Bethany Hamilton was just learning to surf and was taught to believe in Jesus.(Bethany Hamilton Biography) What she did not know was that in nine years she was going to have something change her whole life. On Halloween morning 2003, she was laying on her surfboard waiting for a wave when all of a sudden a 14 foot tiger shark came up next to her and tore off her left arm. Since the tragic moment, Bethany has been making public appearances everywhere to share her story. Just a month after the attack, Bethany was already touching people throughout the world with her story. She appeared on ABC, 20/20, Good Morning America, Anderson Cooper 360, and was on Inside Edition. More public television appearances that Bethany made were Oprah, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, The Tonight Show, Primetime, Nightline, The 700 Club, The Today Show, ESPN, MTV, Nickelodeon, The Early Show, Extreme Makeover, Are you Smarter than a Fifth Grader?, (Susan J. Baylock) and many more which she had moved millions. Television shows isn’t the only thing that Hamilton appeared on. Bethany’s story was featured in numerous magazines. Some of which include, People, Time, Life, Glamour, Sports Illustrated, O Magazine, Teen Vogue, Seventeen, and of course all surfing magazines. (Susan J.
