It is always very important to follow all orders given to you by people appointed over you. Orders in the military is what makes the army so organized and effective in tough situations. Following orders ensures everyone is on the same page to get the task done in the most effective way possible. Following orders is not just important in combat but must also be followed in garrison and during training exercises as well to accomplish daily missions. If you were to disobey an order, that would increase the risk of not being able to complete the mission you were given. Part of becoming a leader is following directions. Every good leader is able to do what they are told when they're told to do it to ensure that whatever they are doing can be accomplished. This also is being a good example to the soldiers that are below you. If leadership is not responsible enough to follow an order then the soldiers below that person will do the same thing. If you cannot follow and order you will never be trusted to give one therefor, you will never earn a higher rank. Following orders is key in any unit. If higher up was to tell you that you need to complete a maintenance task because they have a flight later on that night, you need to be able to execute so they too don't fail what they are doing because of you. Orders are called orders for a reason. It is not a suggestion for you to choose if you want to do it or not.
