The three stories in Stage 27 are a follow-up of the previous stories involving Modestus and Strythio. In the previous stories, The centurion saw Strythio and Modestus and ordered them to the prison to guard it, especially Vercobrix’s cell. They then searched for Vercobrix, and found him sleeping in his cell. Modestus then went in the cell and a spider fell on him. He screamed and ran out of the cell scared. When asked why he was so pale, he stated it was because he was hungry and ran to the kitchen to get food. While he was eating the food, he wondered if Strythio would be upset for eating without him and wanted to explain the situation to him. When he went to see Strythio in the prison, he found all the gates to the cells open and knew that all the prisoners escaped. He didn’t want to stay in the prison because he feared the centurion would find him, so he fled the scene. Our stories pick up where Modestus and Strythio are hiding under a granary, where they hid to flee and hide from the centurion. The centurion saw the gates of the cells open and was very angry, so he sent his soldiers to find Modestus and Strythio. The soldiers looked everywhere and could not find them. Modestus then sent Strythio to go find food because he could not live like this for much longer. Vercobrix and his men approached the camp and wanted to burn down the granary. They went under the granary and Modestus thought one of the men was Nigrina, the dancing girl who he ordered. He noticed Vercobrix and fled because of the Britons. Vercobrix’s men tried to arrest Modestus, but their torch lit Modestus on fire. He put it out with wine and used the wine jar to block the Britons from escaping. He successfully trapped the Britons this way and the commander of the legion rewarded him by being in charge of the prison. I predict Modestus will be successful in the future and Strythio will try to be, but not be as successful as Modestus. Modestus shows his lead
