Have you ever received a consequence for an action that you made without thinking about it? Well, in the novel Silas Marner, the theme you reap what you sow can be seen throughout the story in several characters. The changes that the characters go through help twist the plot of the story and keep the readers interested. Silas Marner, a weaver well known in the small town of LanternYard was accused of stealing gold. Silas portrayed his passiveness in the whole situation, he expected William, his best friend to be honest and admit to crime. However that didn’t happen. Ultimately that led to Silas walking away from his faith isolating himself. In this period of isolation, a ray of sunshine broke through when he mat Eppie. Eppie reminded Silas how to love and how to be loved. Eppie helped Silas restore his faith and mend his broken heart. Dunstan, the main antagonist in this novel, from a young age had no example of how to act or behave set for him. This caused him to act selfishly, greedily and inconsiderately towards others. Throughout the story Dunstan could be labeled as scandalous, his alcoholism did hi no good either. All he did included hurting and cheating people, however all of his actions backfired and caused him to be untrustworthy. He could not keep a relationship with anyone especially his own father. In the end all of is schemes and greediness did him nothing except lead him straight to his death. Dunstan defiantly earned the consequence he received. That leads us to Godfrey a sun-protagonist in the novel started off being a selfish, dishonest man. Who also had no guidance of how to behave set for him in his childhood. That led him to make most of the reckless choices that he made. However all of those reckless decisions that he made played a huge role in the storyline of the novel. Godfrey loved Nancy and wanted to have her children, even though he was already married to Molly Farren and managed to keep it a secret from N
