Mission of LEGO Through play, we discover both the world and ourselves, and we are able to imagine the most amazing things. LEGO has grown into a worldwide phenomenon of far reaching repercussions, particularly in the field of imagination and creativity. The mission of LEGO is to inspire and develop the builders of tomorrow. They want to inspire and develop children to think creatively, reason systematically and release their potential to shape their own future, making them experience the endless human possibility. While playing, children are able to unfold their imagination and creativity which develop valuable skills that are integral in the development of children. LEGO Helps in the Development of Values and Skills LEGO develops problem solving skills and planning skills in children. When constructing LEGO, children need to improvise in order to create their build. Sometimes children encounter problems while constructing their LEGO because they don’t have the right piece or a piece is lacking, so it engages their mind to think of a path from where they are stuck to where they want to get to which is the end point of their build. The strategies learned through the simple process of joining blocks to make structure will strengthen the planning and problem solving skills of children. LEGO develops a child’s fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination. Placing the bricks into the right place requires a steady hand and a keen understanding of perspective and space along with concentration and focus. LEGO also encourages communication and critical thinking in children. Children love to talk about what they are building. The right question may lead to a very long description of what’s being built, the characters that are involved or maybe even a play by play commentary of what’s happening. When children are assembling a build, they think of the right and necessary pieces to put together in order to achieve what they want to build. LEGO also develops other skills like three dimensional thinking, literacy skills, Mathematics, planning and evaluating problems, etc. but the most important of all, LEGO enhances the imagination and creativity in children.
