Happiness we all have it, but there are different ways to happiness, some are good some are bad. Happiness is something that is sometimes hard to get and sometimes easy, but, do we know what happiness really is? In this novel The Great Gatsby, there's a lot to deal with about true happiness. A girl names Daisy finds many ways to happiness but is she really happy? Pursuing happiness in a way that is materialistic rather than pure emotion is what can eventually lead to downfall. When measuring priorities in Daisy's life money and social class comes first before love and family. Daisy who seems like a well, nice caring girl but in reality she is nothing like that. We have not met for years. (84) Sometime before Daisy was with Gatsby, but because he was poor she left hum and went and got married to Tom, because he was rich. This is Daisys way of getting happiness through Toms money. This proved that Daisy got her happiness materialistically rather than her pure emotion. This led to not so great happiness with her, with Tom not being Loyal to her and having affairs with other women. The younger of the two was a stranger to me. (14) Here Nick is telling that he has never seen the little girl before, Daisy's daughter. This shows that Daisy does not really care about telling other people her close family members about her. Its showing that she does not really care for Pamela, she even has a maid to look after her. It shows that Daisy loves her social status and her money more than her own family. Shes getting happiness by showing the world, her close members that she is rich and she has a name rather than showing and telling the most important things which is family. We haven't met for many years.
