21 Pages 658 Words 1557 Views

I was never told that this is the land full of opportunities until about a year and a half ago as my brain started developing and processing different information. At first, I didn't really know what that meant because I was only twelve and not open minded. Then, by attending the School for Human Rights somehow break down the information and show me more than I've even expected. Previously in primary school in Guyana, I couldn't figure out what to do with my life and still couldnt figure it out four years after being in America. To become Doctors and lawyers was some of the most popular choices, but wasn't for me. I chose to leave my options open for later. I didn't know what to run to and there were limited options to choose from and more money to be paid out of pocket. This country is truly full of opportunities and anyone can do anything only if they put their heart and head into it and keep their mind open. Few minutes before I got into my cousin's taxi, my friend came over to my house early in the morning to say goodbye. My older cousin arrived with him taxi and was ready to take me, my three sisters and my mother to the Cheddi Jagan Airport. We loaded our luggage into the trunk of the car, then on town side to pick up our new married aunt and from there we headed for the airport. After arriving at the airport, everyone got their stuff out of the car and enter the airport. We got out stuff weight, then afterwards searched and next me and my sister hugged and kissed our mother and off to the airplane we go. My mother and father went their own ways and so did my older brother. I went with my dad not by my own choice but because he was the only one who had another place. I used to have him because of his lack of education, but that mightn't have been his fault. Time passed by and school was just starting as I entered the 8th grade as D material. I tried to maintain my academic throughout all of my stressful first and second semester.
