Tick, tick, tick, the clock went as Amanda patiently sat behind her desk waiting for the final bell to ring. As the bell rang she sprinted out of class, leaving a trail of papers behind her, but she could not help herself because today was her first official basketball practice as a senior. “I can’t talk” she screamed to Audrey, her best friend, as she dashed down the stairs. Audrey shaking her head and laughing was headed out to the parking lot to go home but was suddenly stopped by her ex boyfriend. “Get away from me please” Audrey begged to Josh but he wouldn’t quit, Josh took Audrey by the arm, but before Josh could get another word in, Amanda came flying out of the gym. “I swear it’s like you have a radar” Audrey whispers to Amanda as she takes Josh’s hand off of Audrey. Later that day, Amanda was just getting out of practice where Audrey sat waiting for her. “What was that whole thing with Josh about?” Audrey became quiet and cold, not knowing what to say so Amanda just changed the subject. Audrey and Amanda had been best friends since 5th grade. They are always with each other and everybody knew who they were and that they were THE best friends. They were the most important people in each of their lives, and nothing was going to change about that. Audrey was driving Amanda back to her house when there was a loud pop, Audrey lost control of the wheel and the car swerved off the road.
